Is a Guinea Pig the right pet for me?

If you can answer Yes! To the following then perhaps guinea pigs are the right pet for you. If you can't then it looks like they are not.

Guinea pigs need company. Will you make sure you give him the friend he needs to make him happy?
Can you afford bedding & food costs each week?
Do you have time to feed your guineas twice a day, spot clean their quarters daily & more thoroughly twice a week?
Do you have room to give your guineas a safe & roomy place to live?
Are you able to give ALL your guinea pigs daily exercise either outdoors in a secure run or indoors in a pig proof room or pen?
Will you take your guineas to the vets if they are ill? Can you afford Vets bills?
Will you be able to arrange for someone to care for your guinea pigs if you go on holiday?
Will you ensure that if your guinea pigs are pets for your children their needs are always met. Will you take care of the guinea pigs when your children neglect them or loose interest?

Please remember if you CANT say yes to ALL of these questions then any guinea pigs you get might join the many pigs who end up in rescues because people didn't think carefully enough about if they could cope with a guinea pig. Please don't add to the statistics!
