Finding a Rodentologist is a wise idea when you have guinea pigs. To find one near you contact BAR (British association of Rodentologists) or the CCT (Cambridge Cavy Trust)
They have expert knowledge about the care of rodents & can perform procedures such as teeth checks & clips on guineas without anethetic (see vets page). Seing a rodentologist will ensure you can look after you boars health concerns without putting him at unnecissary risk in this way.

First the Rodentologist put me in this little bag thing. This is done to stop me moving around & help feel secure. I'm still only a baby pig so it is a bit big for me. But many adult piggys fill the bags to bursting! Podgy Spam did! |
| Next the Rodentologist wrapped me (in the bag!) in a towel. She rolled me on to my back to examine me | ![]() |

Then she had a look in my mouth. Because I am little she didn't use seperators on me but this picture (used with Kind permission of BAR) shows the seperators being used to keep a piggys mouth open so they can see the back teeth. |
