Side by Side: Cubes & Correx

C& C is wire CUBES & CORREX (in the UK, Corroplast in US).

Correx is a kind of plastic corrogated cardboard used to make signs (so available from sign makers). Tell them its for a GP cage as you may get it cheaper! For details of how to make a C&C cage the best website to visit is www.cavycages.com

The cubes are actually grids from a wire storage/shelving unit, now available at Argos and usually available on ebay.

Suppliers: Please check out the CavyCages website data base for an up to date list of suppliers near you.

These cages are so versitile. You can make anything your heart desires!

You can make some gorgeous cages that are cheap & flexible from cubes & correx. These cages allow you to house 2 boars who don't get on next to each other and through the use of a common divider wall made from the mesh squares they are able to interact closely through the bars whilst still not being able to do any damage to one another with teeth & claws!
We tried this Set-up with adult boars Prince & Spam (image at top of page). It was a huge improvement in Prince's behavior. He was more active & vocal with the presence of a new piggy. Their C&C cage was so successful that the wall was able to be taken away after they were carefully introduced as friends. They lived together in the same cage for years. In fact for the rest of their lives.
We now have a 3 storey C&C cage high-bred using a wooden frame that houses 3 large 2 by 6 grid cages. The tp level is divided into two 3x3 grid cages for single boars who don't get on. More pigtures soon.

Some of your C&C cages

Above left: At This is a variation on the C&C cage using wood instead of correx. Kathryn (who's piggy's& set up this is!) uses is it to allow her to keep her piggy's in close proximity to each other. Separated only by mesh walls. Above right: Joana's C& C cage

Above: Janet uses her C&C grids to allow her boars to exercise side by side.

Coming soon... our multi story unit for 4 seperate C&C cages... perfect for those of you who would like to try C&C but have a lot of piggys. Watch this space!
